Abandoned Anchor...

I found this abandoned anchor while walking on the still shores of Dhanushkodi. It was lying there as if the ferry just ditched it and left it behind before setting out into the sea, as if she had no intention of ending her voyage. This whole thought of the ferry and this anchor brought a dreamy smile on my face. The reason for that smile was obvious. Many times in our life we slow down, we stop and put an anchor on our dreams, aspirations and desires for various reasons. That trip you planned, that road you wanted to take, the life you wanted to live never happened because you listened more to the situations around you and lesser to your heart. And here I was standing before an anchor which was throw out and left behind. As if I was witnessing the courage of that ferry which ventured out on its own into the ocean. There might be danger out there but hey, she will face them on her own terms. And that was the message or philosophy which was being conveyed.

And it is also the philosophy behind what I call the Roving Spirit, which refuses to put an anchor because it strongly believes that we all have only one life and it is meant to be lived and not just spend. So, if there is something out there which really your heart tells you, then don’t wait, don’t listen to others, just reach out and grab it. Keep Thumping…
